Pointing at the the moon! Discover the current lunar cycle at a glance!

The mechanism of the lunar clock is specific, and operates a complete rotation in 29 days and a half, ⏱️ that is to say 708 hours. As the main clock hand rotates very slowly, the 'second hand' is therefore essential! It proves that the mechanism is working properly, by operating a tiny leap every minute.

This period of time was calculated according to the lunar cycle whose duration is 29 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes and a few seconds.

The clock mechanism is powered by a single AA battery (not supplied). Simply search on line for the phase of the moon in your location, set the main hand, and off you go moon gazing!

Its high-quality made-in-France print adds a neat finish to the moon phase clock and makes it a very smart and beautiful object.

Hand-assembled in Hossegor, France with a frame in natural beech wood and featuring a white hand and a cornstarch 'second' hand.

Available in four designs, with complementary Tide Clocks, Wall (Time) ClocksBarometers and also Thermometers available too!

    Diameter: 25.5cm / 10 inches
    Depth: 4cm / 1.5 inches

    Runs slow

Bought this on its claim to be an accurate time keeping device, but it gets 5 "minutes" behind over the course of just a few months.

Hi Harry, sorry to hear that your clock is not as accurate as expected. I spoke with the manufacturer in France and they suggested a couple of things: first the clocks have a sticker on the back (albeit in French) stating they need a standard power alkaline battery - high power alkalines (Optimum/Pro/Power/Max -branded) can cause small issues in the accuracy. Secondly, they suggested making use of their page 'How to set your Moon Clock' (https://www.oceanclock.com/en/page/75-how-to-set-your-moon-phase-clock) which shows you exactly where to put the hand for today - it is the most accurate way of initially setting the clock. Let me know if either of these helps! All the best, Maff :)
