A superb all-round woodcarving knife, whether you're just starting out or have been carving for years. Available with either a 60mm or 85mm blade, depending on the sort of work you want to do.
Designed for shaping, detail work, whittling and general woodcarving, it's a straightforward, nicely balanced knife that's easy to control and relatively easy to sharpen. The 60mm blade is a good all-rounder and particularly handy for smaller, more detailed work, while the longer 85mm blade gives you a little more reach for larger pieces and broader cuts.
The barrel-shaped handle is made from sustainably sourced Scandinavian birch and treated with linseed oil for a comfortable grip. A full rat-tail tang runs through the handle, giving the knife plenty of strength and stability while you're working.
The tapered carbon steel blade takes a very keen edge and is highly regarded by woodcarvers around the world. These knives are made in Sweden and are closely associated with the skilled craftspeople of Nusnäs, home of the famous hand-carved Dala horse.
Carbon steel does need a little care - it will rust if neglected. Wipe the blade dry after use and occasionally give it a light coating of Camellia Oil.
