This round-tipped knife is designed for kids to be able to learn (while supervised) to safely use knives. The blade is made from top quality Sandvik stainless steel. It folds away for safety and locks open to prevent accidental folding whilst in use. The handle is either natural beechwood or painted hornbeam wood from French forests, varnished to be protected against moisture and marks.
Although it's designed for kids it is commonly bought for use in picnics and general knife use where you don't need a point at the tip of the knife.
Designed and manufactured in France.
Overall length: 18cm (open), 9.5cm (folded)
Blade length: 8cm
Please note in 2022: currently the only available packaging for the natural beech handled version is in a plastic blister pack due to stock issues with Opinel products. Opinel have been struggling to keep up with demand so for the foreseeable future the pink- and green- handled knives have been discontinued to focus on production of the beech, blue and red handled versions.
