Upcycled Cement Shoulder Bag

Made by the iconic Turtle Bags, though note that no Turtles involved in the making of the bags! The brand was stared in 2002 to raise awareness of ocean plastic and its effect on turtles. Made by a women's uplift programme establishing a just and poverty-free society through the economic empowerment of women.

This beautifully handmade bag is produced in the Dinajpur area of rural Bangladesh repurposing used cement bags and lining them with cotton; with a zipped opening and a second zipped inner pocket to keep your belongings safe. The cement bags would have held 50kg of cement in a previous life so it certainly is a strong enough material!
