Coir Peat-free Compost

2 items left

Peat is finally being banned and it should have happened a long time ago. Coir is an amazing material which may be considered a waste product from the harvesting of edible coconut and can step in and be used for a growing medium for your houseplants and garden. All you need to do is add water to this block and it will swell to make a great compost! Just need a bit to top up your plant pots? The you can cut a bit off and save the rest for later; nice and dry for the next time you need it. No need for bulky, damp bags of compost hanging around the house!

The 600g eco coir compost block, creates up to 11.5 Litres of the optimum soil structure for your plants. Made purely from sustainably sourced coconuts, our coir compost is perfect for growing houseplants, herbs, fruit, vegetables or cacti.

The coir will improve drainage, air circulation and water retention, helping create a perfect environment to encourage healthy root growth. The fibres have a high cation exchange capacity, meaning they absorb, store and release nutrients very effectively, reducing nutrient leaching and helping your plant absorb plant food more efficiently.

The coir fibres are specially graded, washed and buffered, using a waste water recycling facility, giving your plant a neutral, safe, gentle soil to grow in. No artificial fertilisers are included so when planted, add an organic proprietary plant food of your choice.

How to use:

The coir compost has been dehydrated, compressed and packaged. All the grower needs to do on receipt is add water and start planting. It's as easy as that!
