Jute Fillis Twine

Fact of the day: Fillis is another name for coarse, natural twine for tying-up plants. My grandma was called Phyllis. My grandma was ace. Twine is ace. Coincidence?! I think not.

The coincidences end there, I'm afraid. The 3-ply version is 110m long, while the beefier 4-ply gives you 200m. The 4-ply now comes in a ball rather than the spool shown in the picture. My grandma, meanwhile, was only about 1.5m tall.

As for what to do with it, the possibilities are pretty much endless. Use it in the garden for tying in plants, in the kitchen for general tying jobs, or in the craft room or classroom for all manner of projects. It's simple, natural and surprisingly useful stuff.
