  • Citric Acid 1kg

Citric acid which can be used for: cleaning, cooking, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals or as a pH regulator.

Food grade citric acid is a weak natural acid with potential descaling properties and a rust removing action. A very useful household product particularly due to its limescale removing properties.

Descaling: Dilute 1 or 2 tablespoons of citric acid in 1L of warm water and use to descale coffee machines, kettles, cups, taps, showerheads and more. Rinse with clear water afterwards.

Remove limescale: Remove limescale from your washing machine, put 6 to 8 tablespoons of acid in the drum and run on a hot cycle (90°C)

Toilet bowl cleaner: Flush loo to wet sides. Scatter approx. one cup around the sides and tip the rest into the toilet. Leave overnight, then brush and flush.

General household cleaning: Replace vinegar with Citric Acid as a cleaner throughout your home.

Storage: In a closed container, in a cool, dry place.
Precautions: Keep out of reach of children.
Packaging: Kraft paper bag and home compostable liner bag. 100% home compostable packaging, plastic-free.

    Citric Acid

We use this in our washing machine as we are in a very hard water area. It keeps the machine clean, working well (because it gets rid of the limescale build-up), and, very importantly, stops it from smelling (that strange, not quite right smell). We would not be without it.
