Long-handled Jute Shopping Bags

Made by the iconic Turtle Bags, though note that no Turtles involved in the making of the bags! The brand was stared in 2002 to raise awareness of ocean plastic and its effect on turtles. Made by a women's uplift programme establishing a just and poverty-free society through the economic empowerment of women.

This beautifully hand woven bag is made in the Dinajpur area of rural Bangladesh using natural jute fibres making it very strong, rugged and 100% biodegradable and home compostable at the end of what will be a very long life.

Long jute handles allow this to be worn over the shoulder. It's sister, the short handled bag was starred in Vogue magazine!
